Overwhelmed by the destruction of our planet and and the heinous atrocities committed against the LGBTQ+ community, the Trans* Queer Mental Health Commune grapples with a site crippled by toxicity and an environment that continually violates its minoritized community. The project aims to be a safe haven within this toxic world, a place of refuge for LGBTQ+ youth to flourish and grow in community together. Interested in “queering” our architecture, our spatial proposition prioritizes non-normative anti-colonial principles of co-authorship and codependency. The architecture is represented in several scales, the Annotated Map, the Persian Miniature, & the VR Rooms.
