Individually and collectively the studio designed and fabricated furniture and objects to shape a suite of Stanze di Fantasia--Rooms of Fantasy--which hosted a Pranzo di Ferraprile--A Mid April Lunch--at semester’s end. We shared a similar exploration in how we make, share and enjoy food. Our studio focus was on three overarching themes: lines, volumetric proportions and surfaces.

The design of each object engaged different sets of material and fabrication processes and the integration of a range of levels of craft focused on the seminal architectural questions of surfaces, joints, tectonics, proportions form and space. And of equal importance: their use both singularly and in combination.

The studio goal was to exercise both the processes of design and also the design of processes. Studio work was focussed on the intermediary Sketches, Jigs, Templates, Mockups, Failures take place between design and fabrication: the Translations from Drawing to Building. These became essential to our studio process and the critical subjects of our discussion energy.

Student Collaboratives designed and produced Vases of slip cast ceramics, Cabinets for Collections of Curiosities, Tables (of Contents) Standing Screens, Seating, Wallpapers.
