This project creates a new exploration route from Flagstaff to the current Hopi settlement that spans lunar testbeds and crater geological landscapes. 12 pavilions conflate mythologies of the Hopi lunar calendar and astrological discoveries of contemporary science. Travelers encounter a variety of experiences as they traverse grounds of former cultural occupations . An adventure unfolds that pairs and contrasts two cultural perspectives. Here, architecture frames local and intimate material environments in contrast with views to vast celestial heavens and vistas as a means to bring diverse cultural naratives into dialogue within the evolving social construct of the desert.
