“Terrestrial Anomalies”

This proposal aims to foster reciprocity between humans and non-human species by redefining urban conditions along the Detroit River. Human activities have fragmented the ecosystem, leaving many species in inadequate edge habitats. The goal is to reclaim the river shorelands as a space for cohabitation and imaginative exploration. The design features the bat as an example of how non-human species can recolonize human territories, enrich biodiversity, and reshape public perception. By dismantling barriers between human and non-human habitats, this proposal creates a multifaceted interweaving of components, relationships, and behaviors that benefit both species.
