“Blood Memory
&
Black Bliss Primitive”

A word weaponized against black bodies, architecture, and culture is used to disqualify the histories and narratives of the African diaspora. Despite the compression of stereotypes of black identity, the multiplicity of blackness continues to evolve. The memories of bliss passed down through blood, stories, music, and practice are part of a collective knowledge of black people despite being torn from their past. This retreat utilizes blood memory and rejected practices as a means of protection. To dismantle cultures of white supremacy mandates creating imaginaries based on our culture, using black bliss for healing from a collective trauma.
