“Garcia Residence: Redo”
This home for two adult siblings and their families imagines the home as a village. Increased costs of housing and concern for environmental impact pushed this design towards a form that maximized its density while also maintaining an open and fluid connection to natural spaces. Common spaces are located in the center of the home, providing plazas for the families to meet and live as one. Corridors serve as points of retreat towards the extremities of the home, where they turn to intermediary spaces between private coves, and external garden terraces.
