“Amber-Anchored House”

This house fosters a sense of community and togetherness for a family displaced from the Amber coast. Through the use of an ancient Baltic bath house ritual sequence that is housed in the Amber tower, the family can both remember and teach traditions from the home left behind. The Amber tower and the light beam skylight envelop and guide the circulation and organization of the house as the entrance through the Amber tower wraps one around and guides by light to the seemingly open upper floor. The light and furniture seperates the upper floor into zones but the space acts as one whole and encourages time spent together.
