The Plex Bag was developed to mitigate issues of storage for unhoused populations. The design originated in direct response to municipal code that criminalizes an individual’s personal belongings by labeling it as “trash, litter, and debris,” and the frequent “cleaning sweeps.” This bag provides dignity through the aesthetic qualities, and provides expediency in packing and carrying which may prevent removal and disposal of belongings. The materials used promotes removal of bio-plastics from the wastestreams, and provides opportunity for communal making through its modular design.
