"Flowering Island"

The embassy design is intended as both an architectural intervention to the site as well as a discursive monument, spotlighting the major climate problem that directly impacts the pacific islands country. The design is therefore positioned, arranged, and planned as a direct response to the crisis. It functions doubly as an architectural space as well as a monument to direct the public attention to the main issue.

Nature-mimicking exploration becomes the motor in the design process. The structure system is a direct inspiration to the mangroves and the facade system, which is adaptive and derived from the national flower of the Marshall Islands.
