An AR assisted tool for design and fabrication Our project involved building a design to fabrication workflow for creating free-form surfaces in an Augmented Reality environment. The workflow comprised seven steps, including drawing the base curve, extruding the surface, making the NURBS surface, segmentation, collision detection, structural analysis, and construction. Additionally, a sub-controlling system was designed to enhance construction accuracy by providing real-time error feedback. We developed all the necessary codes for the AR environment using Python, Grasshopper, Fologram, Kangaroo, and COMPAS. Finally, a 0.5m x 0.5m x 2.2m proof-of-concept structure was constructed to evaluate time, and accuracy of the proposed method.
